Respite & short-term stays

Respite stays are billed at the same $5,000/month rate, pro-rated to the length of your stay (roughly $167/day). 7-day minimum. All the same services — private room, meals, medication management, 24/7 awake overnight care — apply during a short-term stay. See our respite care page for details on who uses it and how to book.

Payment

We accept private pay, private insurance, SSI, and SSDI. Monthly fees are billed directly to the family — no Medicare or Medicaid billing on our end. Simple and straightforward.

Pricing questions, answered

Does the monthly rate include medication management?

Medication administration by our Certified Medication Technician is part of the included base care. We handle prescription coordination with your pharmacy and physicians as part of standard care.

What happens if care needs escalate?

Because we hold Maryland's Level 3 OHCQ license — the highest care-complexity tier permitted in an assisted living program — we can handle dementia, complex medication regimens, mobility support, and end-of-life care without transferring your loved one to a higher-priced facility. Call 301-871-1021 to discuss how a change in care needs would affect your rate.

Is the rate locked in, or does it increase over time?

Month-to-month. Your rate is set at admission based on the initial care assessment. We review pricing annually and give advance written notice of any change.

Do you accept Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance?

We accept private pay, private insurance, SSI, and SSDI. We do not bill Medicare directly (Medicare doesn’t cover long-term assisted living anyway — it’s only for short-term skilled nursing) and we don’t currently participate in Maryland Medicaid waivers. For private long-term care insurance specifically, the model is reimbursement: you pay us directly each month, and your insurer reimburses you per your policy terms — we’ll help you submit claims.

What isn't included in the monthly rate?

The rate covers room, all meals, 24/7 licensed care, medication management, activities, laundry, and medical transportation within 10 miles of Silver Spring. Items not included: personal toiletries, salon and barber services, specialty medical equipment (e.g., hospital bed, oxygen concentrator), and transportation beyond the 10-mile radius. We will quote any add-ons before charging.
